Our Experience

Edward Flax founded Emmy Homes in 1964, building  “spot” homes throughout the Ronkonkoma and Holbrook areas, which were then at the easterly end of the partially completed Long Island Expressway. The company expanded into subdivisions, condominiums, garden apartments, offices and most recently hi-rise construction in New York City. Ed is proud of Emmy’s continuous operations for over 40 years and reputation for stability, customer service, and civic responsibility. Ed holds bachelor and law degrees from Harvard University.

Gary Axelrod graduated from City College of New York and began his career as a CPA, before joining Emmy Homes in 1971. Since then he has been in charge of all phases of company operations, earning a reputation for reasonableness and fair dealing with customers, contractors and suppliers. He is proud to be accessible to all and treats everyone with the respect and consideration they deserve. Gary enjoys having his large and ever growing family near him  on Long Island.

Robert Gordon started working for Emmy Homes upon his graduation from Colby College in 1971 and has been here ever since. He is in charge of  field operations and construction.  Bob is dedicated to making the path to home ownership as smooth as  possible. His patience and ability to anticipate problems and furnish solutions assures our customers that their dreams will be realized in their new homes. He is an expert in energy saving features and techniques, having been certified as the first New York State “Energy-Star” builder of large subdivisions.

Craig Axelrod joined Emmy Homes in 1994 after earning a Degree in Business from Bentley College, and soon obtained a post graduate Degree in Construction from New York University. He is responsible for new business development; a job which takes him to all points in the metropolitan area and alerts him to the newest trends and techniques in all phases of construction. Craig also serves on the Board of Directors of the Queens Bronx Builder's Association.
