Happy Homeowners

Dear Ed, Gary, Bob and Craig,

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for all of your help in building our new home.

Although we had always wanted to build a new house, my husband and I were a bit apprehensive. We had heard that the process could be very difficult to manage, and that we’d have to supervise the builder every minute to be sure that things were proceeding as scheduled.

When we met with Emmy we were pleasantly surprised to find that the opposite was true. All of the staff at Emmy was extremely professional, and made sure to explain every step in the process, right down to the last detail. We immediately felt a strong sense of trust, and were very comfortable about what to expect. From the very beginning, everyone at Emmy seemed genuinely concerned about project.

During the color selection process, the staff took a great deal of time to go through the various options one by one. Joanne had some very good suggestions on various aspects of our interior design and building. Everyone was very patient as we changed our minds many times. Even the outside vendors were very helpful in making suggestions.

Bob, Edie, Liz and Patty were wonderful during the construction process. They all took the time to answer every question and return every call promptly. We were always treated with the utmost respect and courtesy no matter how mundane the question. Construction went remarkably smoothly, with only a couple of minor tweaks needed. Marcello and the rest of the construction staff were always very polite and accommodating during on-site visits.

The house was completed ahead of schedule – two weeks sooner than the projected date originally given to us. Even the closing process was simple and painless!

We have happily told many friends about our great experience with Emmy. We will always be grateful to you and your staff for the wonderful job you did. It feels so good to come home to such a beautiful home every night.

Best Regards,
Rick and Lynellen Nielsen

Dear Mr. Flax,

Holbrook Pines was the first development that "caught our eyes". With all of the builders on Long Island, we decided to take advantage and investigate. In many ways those builders, and you know who they are, did not compare to Emmy. For one, Emmy has been building homes on Long Island for more than twenty years. They built my parents home, the home I grew up in. Once my husband and I made a commitment to Emmy, Emmy was committed to building our home as we wanted. The entire Emmy staff has, and continues to be helpful, knowledgeable and honest. We closed one year ago, and are sure we made the right decision.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us through the Emmy builders.

Good Luck,
Dorothy & Joseph McMahon

When it came time to build our house we wanted a builder we could trust. So we chose Emmy Builders. We learned that Emmy had a soild reputation and considerable experience in building beautiful homes on Long Island. Emmy worked with us on every detail of our home. They offered us a freedom of choice and were resolute in seeing our ideas through. They were always professional and timely. We are proud of our new home and happy we chose Emmy Builders.

Dear Mr. Flax,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff for our beautiful new home in Selden.

In September of '95 both my wife and I decided it was time to leave Queens and move to the suburbs. We had been searching for a few months for a house. Never had we considered a new construction as the "horror" stories and the high price always scared us away. On a lark one day we saw your advertisement in Newsday for Hidden Forest in Selden and we decided to pay it a visit. The model homes were very impressive and the sales help very eager to help. We immediately fell in love with the first house that we looked at. It took a lot not to jump at the offer as we discovered that the price of a new house and the old house with a lot renovations to meet our needs were very close in price. We did continue our search of other new houses through out Suffolk with other developers and spot builders and found that we were always comparing to the Emmy model in Selden. Many of the other builders offered a similar product but the sales staff and home offices were constantly looking for signatures, binders and a jump now or forever lose attitude. Well the story ends with us purchasing a Emmy Home in Selden and I think that it's important to mention to you a few of your staff that have been extremely helpful and really seem to have made a difference in our selecting Emmy Homes and Selden. Just to let you know that as a result of our dealing with Emmy we have directed other potential customers to your models, two of whom have purchased homes with you.

At the models in Selden, Joanne has been a very big help. She was extremely prepared and knew the area as she was able to answer all of our questions about Selden and the surrounding areas. You might be surprised to know that many other sales staff from other builders could not answer questions such as which school district they were in, how far were the schools/churches or shopping and the type of neighborhood it was. During the "color selection" Joanne was also very patient as we changed our minds many times and she had some very good suggestions on various aspects of our interior design and building.

During the course of construction Eddy, in Smithtown, was of immense help. It's unusual in this time to find a person who will return calls, answer questions, return faxes and talk to you as an adult and not treat your inquiry as an annoyance. During the course of construction there were some minor glitches and I found it refreshing that Eddy called me to tell me in advance that Emmy had a problem or there was a delay. With this approach it was easy to work out our differences as she always had alternatives and we worked as a team on our new house.

Finally there was Ed Smith who has been of invaluable help. As this was the first new construction that we had ever purchased there were a lot of items that we needed answers to. During our walk through he was able to explain how "things" worked in the house like thermostats, central air etc. I always appreciated the follow up calls and visits that Ed would make to us and the advise on what we needed to do and take the time to explain time and time again how things worked. It is extremely rare that when there are difficulties with a customer that instead of ignoring them and hoping that they go away they are sought out to solve and fix the problem.

Again I would like to thank you for the beautiful new home and to all your staff who made this possible. Thanks again and regards.

It was a pleasure to meet you at the Summerfield BBQ several weeks ago. At the time you said you were the person to whom we could communicate. This message is about sharing some compliments with you.

The staff at Summerfield, from the smiling face of Laura at the reception desk to the knowledgeable and helpful Joann Balkum in sales, makes one feel comfortable and welcome. Our concerns have been addressed courteously and professionally by Jean Otruba and Bob Gordon.

At this point, our house is coming along beautifully and we are looking forward to a successful completion.

Sincerely,
John and Carol Thomas

Dear Bob,

Just a quick note of thanks for the assistance you gave us during the early stages of building our house. We are delighted with the house, and feel like we're still on vacation living there.

I also would like to express our appreciation for the job well done by Keith Callan. He was accommodating and knowledgeable, and is a definite asset to your organization. He continues to ensure our needs are being met in a timely manner -- (everyone else in the office deserves praise as well).

Again, Barbara, Zachary and I thank everyone for their efforts.

Sincerely,
Glenn P. McDonald

Dear Mr. Flax,

My wife Rita and I searched for quite some time to find our dream home. This search led us to Summerfield.

After much deliberation, we chose a model that would be the foundation on which to begin fulfilling our dream. We wanted to take this house and incorporate our needs to make it our home.

Our "wish list," however, was quite extensive. With the able assistance of Jean Otruba, however, each step of the way has been painless. At the mere mention of an item, Jean supplied us with all the information required almost instantaneously. Our calls were handled promptly, courteously, and efficiently.

Jean is truly an asset to your organization. We are confident she will guide us through the final steps to moving day -- and the beginning of our new lifestyle.

Yours Truly,
Andrew J. Desiderio, P.E.
